I Don’t Care About…

The political philosophy of Batman. Seriously, why is this something anybody would post about?

  1. I don;t get it. People post about everything. Comics (and thus movies based upon) long ago left the “aimed at children” market. With increasing complexity they have obviously taken on some political content. Green Arrow became the liberal firebrand to Hawkman’s reactionary conservative. Many try to walk an edge, but others stopped even trying to pretend they did not bring a specific and deeply held set of political and social views. Why wouldn’t this be something of interest? Your geek cred is slipping.

  2. I have a hard enough time discerning the political philosophy of the people actually passing laws – Bane’s hypothetical motives seem rather trifling in comparison.

  3. All of this hubub over the Nolan version has caused Republicans to forget that the Bob Kane original was almost certainly a homosexual and a pedophile to boot. Truth be told, I think I prefer this conversation to the alternative.
