Thanks again to Pandora

It’s a sign that I should probably pay attention more when I go to thumbs up a song only to find that I’ve already done so. This is one of those songs.

Barnyard Disturbance – Edgar Meyer

  1. Edgar Meyer is terrific. Jerrod I know is a big fan too. You’d do well to seek out more stuff from him, and then branch out to people he’s collaborated with (particularly Bela Fleck and Mark O’Connor).

  2. Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Zakir Hussein – Pile Up

Still can’t get over that fingerroll that follows after 2:45.

  3. And probably my favorite collaboration was the Edgar Meyer, Mark O’Connor, and Yo-Yo Ma stuff, which resulted in two albums in constant rotation for me – Appalachian Waltz and Appalachian Journey.

Which also resulted in what I think is the definitive version of one of America’s great original songs.

James Taylor, Mark O’Connor, Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer – Hard Times Come Again No More

James Taylor was literally born to sing that song.

But by now we’re pushing into the Americana range (my favorite), whereas you might be more interested in the experimental-ish stuff, as like the one you posted.
