Romney and Cain > Ron Paul

On a controversial anti-abortion pledge that would, among other things, deny all forms of federal funding to medical facilities at which abortion is practiced.

  1. This post reminded me to point out “A Libertarian Theory of Revolution” (http://rulingclass.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/a-libertarian-theory-of-revolution/) posted at the Liberale et Libertaire. One of the obstacles in organization a revolution, libertarian or otherwise, is the collective action costs involved. The key observation:

“In part, this is reinforced by the cultural war that would brand any actual collective action on this matter an agent itself of oligarchy(this should be obvious by now: an agent of Soros; an agent of the “Koch’s”). The cultural war has successfully managed to create a political vocabulary that casts any threat to the Status Quo as itself an instrument of Oligarchy.”

The culture war divides libertarians, with pro-life libertarians like Ron Paul appearing to be culturally out of sync with his pro-choice supporters. It’s very frustrating.
