Your Health Care Debate Moment of the Day

So the House passed their rather progressive health care bill this afternoon, 220-215. There was much shenanigans on the floor and more than your average grandstanding, but I think the winner would have to be Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ), who is often a pretty decent budget hawk, but this time chooses to go for the emotional appeal. Of course, we’re used to the “constituent anecdote” that has become a staple of proselytizing (”Take Mary Wilkens, a mother of four in Toledo who has to work two jobs to…”), but this might mark the first time an actual baby is busted out on the floor of the house as a prop.
