On notice!
As if she hadn’t botched it badly enough already.
But Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein on Saturday warned legal action may be taken against bloggers and publications that reprint what he calls fraudulent claims.
“To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as ‘fact’ that Governor Palin resigned because she is ‘under federal investigation’ for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation,” Van Flein said in a statement. “This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law.”
As a non-ideological ally who defended her when others wouldn’t, I have now officially reached the “don’t let the door” stage.
Now we just have to hope that her lawyer doesn’t do a web search for Steller Sea Lions.
I got to the “don’t let the door hit” you stage by the end of the campaign.
What’s disappointing is that, on paper, there really was a Sarah Palin to get excited about. As cliche as it sounds, she could have molded an image as an outside reformer, a populist-libertarian maverick. And to their credit, the campaign tried mightily, at times, to keep it on those terms.
But what I couldn’t have foreseen, and I think what shocked the McCain campaign, was the depth of not just her ignorance, but her narcissism. And, I think, the level to which she would buy in to her own bullshit, which is the part that really took me by surprise.
But yeah, at this point I have absolutely no use for her, and hopes she sulks quietly away never to return. Although I suspect she’s quite incapable of that.

How will the spectacle of politics ever get on without her?

At least this takes our minds off of being embezzled by the federal government. Yay.

And wasn’t that her purpose since she was introduced to federal politics?
