Jon Stewart – Cable News Killer

At least at the rate he’s going. First crossfire, now CNBC is roiling with problems as one of their rising stars and their senior vp of business programming essentially walk off.

Granted, it’s probably coincidental as much as anything, but still. He does seem to be a coffin nail, don’t he?

  1. He’s an opportunist comedian, so going for the weak and struggling is bound to correlate with failure more often than random chance would suggest.

Although going after two media outlets that later failed in the entire time I’ve been in the US isn’t exactly being a ‘coffin nail’, given that he is doing a comedic news show four times a week.

  2. I’ve been saddened, if not suprised, by TDS’s sudden lack of cynicism towards government policy. The show was a lot more entertaining, and INFINITELY more unique, when it was a comprehensive critique of power as opposed to an openly-weilded partisan club.

  3. It’s the problem with getting what you want.

As a Libertarian, you’ll never have to worry about it.
