He’s Gone

And as Marine One takes to the skies, the mall breaks into chants of “Na na na na. Na na na na. Hey hey hey. Goodbye.”

Hard to believe it’s over.

  1. I reckon they weren’t listening to Obama’s calls to reject division, or the crazy guy’s bit about turning to each other, not on each other.

This is one of the paradoxes that Obama will need to confront if he’s serious about the whole healing thing. Whole lotta hate among his supporters; no less than on the other side.

Of course, I don’t see the healing thing as terribly necessary to the success of his agenda to begin with.

  2. They gave him his polite applause. Nobody was throwing rotten fruit.

But yeah, I can understand the overwhelming catharsis of watching that copter go. Not sure that was born of hate, but relief.

  3. Although I certainly could have done without the petty sniping of Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow. My bad for tuning into MSNBC at that moment.

Sense of history people, at least, come on.

  4. They wasted no time at all did they? Executive One has arrived at Andrews already.

It’s completely appropriate, but feels sort of abrupt.
