Until the Republicans reject the GWOT as proposed by Kristol et al. they will not see power again.
I thought the rank and file would be quicker to see this, but they are proving even more stupid than I thought.

And it would be quite easy to deconstruct Mataconis’ version of limited government conservatism/libertarianism. It’s a complete myth as well.
I suppose what the likes of Kristol are bragging about is that they have succeeded in wiping away such a veneer-and he’s quite right about that–and it’s time for party loyalists to adopt a ruling class ideology that acknowledges a ruling class.

It is certainly true that absent a Ron Paul candidacy the Republican party has little free market credentials left.
