I am completely unphazed by a band's association with wierd or otherwise narcissistic groups, and view it similarly to the guilt by association tactics referred to in Adam's post just below. I enjoy selected My Chemical Romance, and would never have even heard of them if it were not for their standing as a /b/-tard standing joke. In MCR's case, the comparison to Obama-Wright is particularly apt given the lead singer's explicit rejection and condemnation of Emo culture.
