The Crossed Pond

Okay, so aside from the musak overlay for the John McCain intro video being some weird mashup of the Theme From Dallas and the Top Gun Anthem, freeze the frame at 6:45 and 7:02, the part where they’re showing stills of black people. I guess they’re supposed to represent supporters, or Americans, or prosperous people, I dunno. Just throwing some black people in there (perhaps making up for the fact that they had the smallest minority attendance at their convention since, I kid you not, the Civil Rights Act).

If you click on over here, you’ll find all their stills of black people were nabbed from a lazy search of iStockphoto.com.

You go to two events a day, and have been for a year and a half. You don’t have a shot or two of a black supporter on the hard drive anywhere? Any black friends you can ask to get on a bike? Party with these guys?

Seriously, is this a local A/V club staging Republican National Conventions now?

Barely related, but worth mentioning, Dailykos is also pointing out that in Rudy’s speech, he had this to say about Obama:

..he’s never run a city, never run a state, never run a business. He’s never had to lead people in crisis.

And in primaries, he had this to say about McCain:

…he’s never run a city, never run a state, never run a government. He has never been responsible as a mayor for the safety and security of millions of people.

Heh.
