Playa Hatin’
Boy, you get a Ron Paul article posted on LewRockwell, and the knives come out. Et tu, Jack?
In all seriousness though, just as a reminder to our readers—particularly the new ones—as this is sometimes a point of confusion with our commentators, one of the things that makes this endeavor fun for me and hopefully challenging/rewarding for you is this is a group blog. There is a common kernel to all of us, but we hold pretty wildly divergent opinions on any number of subjects. We have fully six writers here, some more active than others, and if you want to check out their individual bios you can find them here. But don’t assume, because you read something from one of us, that we’re speaking for all of us, or the site at large.
Adam, for instance, is pro-war (since he insists on calling me pro-abortion, I think that’s a fair construction). I am decidedly not. Rojas is pretty clearly down on the Democratic party as a reasonable alternative for libertarian-minded people. Mark, I think, would say the same about Republicans. I am pro-Ron Paul. Jack hates freedom. Jack is a compassionate human being. James is a cynical bastard whose tiny little heart pumps black tar through his veins. And so on.
Hopefully, in reading all these divergent opinions, you get some sense of the vibrant conversation that ought to be alive and well revolving around the state of conservatism and liberty in America (and across the pond) today, and what that even means. That’s one of the reasons we so frequently comment in each other’s posts (and why some of the best content on the site exists there, if you ask me).
But if you’re looking for singular orthodoxy, you’ll have to look elsewhere. If you try to hoist that framework on us, you’ll just end up confused and frustrated.
So pay attention to the author names on posts.
I’m down on the Democratic party AS A WHOLE as a libertarian alternative, not on individual Democrats, necessarily. For instance: Obama.

There can be absolutely no more demeaning or soul wrenching experience than to agree with Brad about anything. I am just sayin’.

It’s worth nothing that it’s Brad that posts crappy music videos and I that posts the good ones.
Give war a chance.

I think calling Adam pro-war is too harsh. I’d call him anti-peace.
Comment by Redland Jack — 2/18/2008 @ 6:58 pm
You guys always with the ‘peace’.
Comment by Adam — 2/18/2008 @ 7:36 pm
I like war. Peace is exceedingly dull.

PS> if you pimp that LR piece of yours one more time, I am going to give you a war you won’t believe, you harlot.
