Worst Blog Posts Ever
The Carpetbagger Report and Kevin Drum have some nominees for you to consider. Left-leaning, of course, but I think even conservatives would have to agree that some of the worst displays of bloggish stupidity in the last several years have come from the right, particularly during the 2002-2005 period.
Anyway, worth taking a trip down memory lane for.
Shudder.
However, if you want some fair-and-balanced, two nominees from the left that come to mind, maybe not for “worst” but certainly for “most ill-advised”, would be:
Jane Hamsher’s HuffPo piece on the Lieberman/Lamont race, that for some reason included a picture of Lieberman in blackface,
Or Kos’ reaction to a bunch of servicemen and contractors in Fallujah getting killed and having their bodies burned and mutilated, to which he helpfully added:
I feel nothing over the death of mercenaries [sic]. They aren’t in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them.
Both were officially involved or at least connected to high profile political campaigns at the time of the comments (Kos with John Kerry’s (he was a link on John Kerry 08’s website at the time), and Hamsher with Ned Lamont.
Whoops.
(both have also since been scrubbed, hence the second hand linkage)
Surely my coverage of Sikhs and Syrians deserves recognition here.

Amid the enormous number of conservative posts that deserve mention (see the wonderful collection at poorman.net’s winger awards for the worst of the worst) I was glad to see Amanda Marcotte’s Duke post mentioned by a commentor, but was disheartened to see Kevin out right reject its inclusion.
