I believe you. I wasn't paying close attention to the stage, or, obviously, the grandson's name.

Happen to know the eldest grandson's name? I was hanging out with him for awhile, and for some reason had some of the names mixed up in my head (there were a lot of them).

NOPE, RAND is the SON, he is an opthamologist....in his 40s.

He is the one who made the joke.

I have had lunch and dinner with him and I'm sure of this.

Man, now I've let the rabble in.

As an aside, I hear that the walk hit about 12k houses in New Hampshire.

Uh oh. Brad used my laptop in NH to blog, and apparently he's still logged in. Should I write as him? I could think of several awesomely funny things to say. Brad, why do you tempt me like this?

Pffft...so I get mentioned as a traveling companion, but not by name? Brad, I was thinking this was going to be my 15 minutes of fame! I WANT MY FIFTEEN MINUTES, BRAD!

And Brinck, of course there wasn't a play by play of the after-after-party. This is a family blog (or something?), and the debauchery of that night was waaay above a PG rating.

Whoo Ron Paul! This is Brinck - I'm somewhat disappointed that there wasn't a play by play of the after-rally festivities and subsequent rocking of the Radisson hotel... This was a fantastic weekend, Ron Paul clearly rules.

Another great story - I went over to the donation table to throw in some more cash for the 1000000 dollar goal, and I when I got there it turned out I couldn't donate with my debit card. There was a guy who overheard my conversation, came over, and threw 50 dollars down on the table, and said, "well, if you want to give money, give money!" It was really awesome - what passion and enthusiasm!

Because I only caught bits and pieces of it (and my reporting is thus unreliable), here is Laura with the New Hampshire rally on YouTube.

Also, we tried to count and we figure there were between 500-700 people there altogether.

Dr. Rand Paul, just for the sake of accuracy, is Ron’s oldest son.

600-700 seems a reasonable estimate. Whatever it was, it was certainly more than 250.

Rand is also the name of the oldest grandson, isn't it? Who made the Giuliani joke (which was awesome)? Admittedly, I wasn't paying very close attention to the speech.

We had a blast last night. We hit a nice pub down the street with some other Ron Paul folks (New Yorkers, Philly, Connecticut, and local), and the Paul family ended up coming out too (we saw that they never paid for a drop), so we spent a good deal of time chatting with a couple of grandkids. I'm just really blown away by what nice, nice people they all are. Smart, clean cut, sweet, not an ounce of pretense to a single one of them.

Anyway, we then had an ad hoc hotel room party into the wee hours that was also a very good.

I'm just getting home now. All in all, it was a very, very fun weekend. I think I may start following the Paul campaign around like the Grateful Dead. Manhattan in two weeks for the Mises Conference!

I would like to share a little story as well.
I, my wife and mother-in-law, had just spent quite a day at the Iowa Straw poll. Quite a day, let me tell you.
Anyway, we went to an Outback restaurant to eat, and we were all dressed up in RP t-shirts and talking about the days events, when a nicely dressed gentleman came up to the table and said he saw us at the Straw poll and wanted to ask us a few questions. So he joined us at our table and we talked about the day. He said he was from Texas and he had moved to NH to help with the RP primary. I never asked his name and he didn't ask us for ours. About 15 minutes later he left and we continued with our meal, and about 15 minutes after he left the waitress came over to give us our check and told us the gentleman who was talking to us had paid for our check. It was a $70 tab what with drinks and such.
I wonder if this is the same guy.
Mystery person, whoever you are, if you are reading this thanks, and please know that the $70 has been donated to the campaign.
I have run across a video on freeme.tv of the guy, but he shall remain a mystery.
