A small Molly Ringwald movie eighties-tastic British bands video collection

It it’s a well-known fact that the trio of movies directed by John Hughes and starring Molly Ringwald — Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink and the Breakfast Club — are the very pinnacle of 1980s film-making. John Hughes was quite a big fan of British music; here are some of the tunes featured (where I was able to find a video for it on YouTube).

The Smiths – Please, please, please let me get what I want (with Spanish subtitles! I don’t remember if there even was an original video, but regardless, this fits it):

Simple Minds – Don’t You (Forget About Me):

Psychedelic Furs – Pretty in Pink (movie version):

New Order – Shell Shock

Something I like rather less. Nick Heyward – Whistle Down the Wind
