Go-go-Cheney-impeachment

Sully reports and muses at 1:27pm:

A clear majority of Americans now favor impeaching the vice-president; and they’re evenly split on the president. I wonder what the numbers were for Clinton ten years ago.

As if by magic, Ana Marie Cox answers with a timestamp one minute later 59 minutes earlier at 12:28pm:

Aug-Sept 1998 (Before Impeachment)

  • Average support for impeachment and removal (10 polls): 26%
  • Average support for hearings (6 polls): 36%

In comparison with the current figures Cox quotes:

  • 45% favor “the US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against President George W. Bush;” 46% oppose.
  • 54% favor “US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Vice President Dick Cheney;” 40% oppose.

Further magic an hour and a half or so later, as Adam of TheCrossedPond.com quotes two posts from two other blogs and adds no original content of his own, to make his own post.

UPDATE: The numbers, they make me blind.
