How Dare They

Michelle Malkin, in the course of acknowledging inaccuracies in her reporting on Ron Paul, expresses frustration at the outrageous tactics of Paul’s supporters.

Her specific complaints: Paul supporters are making organized efforts to vote in online polls, and even worse, calling radio shows and disagreeing with the host. A YouTube of the latter fiasco here.

Needless to say, I am speechess and ashamed.

I think that we can all agree, regardless of our feelings about Ron Paul, that this sort of political terrorism ought to be considered out of bounds in a democracy. Certainly, organizing in support of a political agenda has no place in the Republican party. Hopefully, the next time LGF runs a poll, they will advise us as to how many of us are allowed to show up and vote for each candidate. And a hat-tip to Malkin for wising us up.

  1. Sheesh…I just don’t get that Malkin. Ron Paul shows up to speak, and some college kid walks up and starts spouting about the 9/11 conspiracy, and Paul has the courtesy to just hear him out – and suggest that we should always be skeptical about what the government tells us, and that a more rigorous investigation into 9/11 couldn’t hurt. By no means does Paul say anything outlandish. It would be one thing if Malkin wrote about it as though he had, but the fact that she actually post the video is anthetical to her position. You can see quite clearly that he is not going conspiracy theorist. Does Malkin think that skepticism about the JFK assassination makes Paul a crackpot?! Come on! We know there was government involvement in that. This is so desperate and pathetic, and panders to the basest form of microbial Midwestern life.

  2. What a bunch of techno-weenies.

It seems to me that many pundits would like to have a conversation about the Big Three candidates (plus possible Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich candidatures) and ignore the rest. The only reasons I can think of, for that, are intellectual laziness or rigid party loyalty (must get those awkward minor players out of the way to assure a nice sraight partitioning of issues and candidates).

    Ridiculous.

  3. Wow. What a retraction. I don’t think that even qualifies as passive-aggressive. Just aggressive-aggressive.

How dare Ron Paul not militantly push the government line at every opportunity. Take him away!
