Very true, and probably more so of Libertarians than of other parties, although one could find more than a few people of that sort among Dems or Republicans as well.
It can’t be too suprising that a movement which prides itself on being politically contrarian will attract a fair number of contrarian personalities. And regrettably, the sort of person who looks askance on this sort of behavior tends to be driven out of the movement by those people who practice it.
It’s one of many ways in which the party marginalizes itself far more than its inherent ideology would require.
